Belarus presented the National review on the Implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development at the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development convened under the auspices of the Economic and Social Council in New-York, USA. The presentation was led by the National Coordinator for Achieving Sustainable Development Goals Mrs. Marianna Shchotkina.

The review defines national indicators on implementation of each SDG, as well as shares the results achieved since the adoption of the 2030 Agenda. According to the document, expenditures on social payments account to 13.7% of the GDP, and maternal mortality rate has decreased more than 18 times since 1990, in 2016 5,7% of Belarusians were recognized as low-income individuals, but the country aims to achieve the rate of 3-4% by 2030.

Belarus became one of the 44 countries who initiated to report SDGs implementation on a voluntary basis. To support the country on this voluntary initiative and its way to sustainable development UNDP in Belarus sets up a new project “Support to the National Coordinator on Implementation of Sustainable Development Goals and Strengthening the Role of the Parliament in the Implementation of Sustainable Development Goals”.
