Belarus is on track towards achieving universal general secondary education by 2015, implying a minimum of 11 years of schooling. Belarus has maintained a high literacy rate at age 15 - 24 (99.8%), and a high total enrolment ratio of 95.7% as of 2009. Full enrolment of boys and girls in primary education (grades 1-4) has also been sustained. Belarus has thus fully achieved the Millennium Development Goal 2.
