Darya Domracheva - UNDP Goodwill Ambassador at Belarus

Darya Domracheva, a biathlete widely known internationally and extremely popular in her country, Belarus, will be involved in UNDP activities to promote healthy lifestyles among children, teenagers and adults in Belarus.

“I am very pleased to welcome Darya as a UNDP Goodwill Ambassador at elarus. UNDP works around the world, making a positive difference in people’s lives, and we are proud that Ms. Domracheva will be supporting our work", UNDP Administrator Helen Clark said. "The great popularity of Darya among Belarusians, especially among the younger generation, makes her a significant role model for healthy lifestyles."

The ceremony of nominating Ms. Darya Domracheva takes place on the last day of the visit of the UNDP Administrator Helen Clark to Belarus.

The visit of the UNDP Administrator to Belarus has demonstrated the importance of the cooperation between UNDP and Belarus, and emphasized UNDP's commitment to support inclusive and sustainable development in the country.

During the visit, Helen Clark visited the Chernobyl–affected Homiel region, and opened the IN Inter–Agency Task Force Meeting on Chernobyl.

Her programme included meetings with the President of Belarus, Mr. Aliaksandr Lukashenka, and senior ministers, providing important opportunities to discuss the cooperation between the UNDP and Belarus.
