Our Projects

The basic modality of UNDP’s assistance to Belarus is the project. The project is a sequence of activities to achieve a set of immediate objectives formulated to contribute to the achievement of a broader national development objective.

Poverty Reduction

  • Support to Local Development in the Republic of Belarus

    This Project is aimed at assisting government authorities and organizations with improvement of good governance standards through a participatory approach and strengthened dialogue between authorities, businesses, non-for-profit organizations and citizens.

  • The project "Assisting the Government of the Republic of Belarus in Accession to the World Trade Organization through Strengthening National Institutional Capacity and Expertise (Phase 5)" is aimed at assisting the Government of the Republic of Belarus in accession to the World Trade Organization through strengthening national (public) institutional capacity and raising public awareness about Belarus’ WTO accession process and impacts.

  • Promotion of employment and self-employment of the population in small and medium-sized towns in the Republic of Belarus

    The main objective of the project: promotion of effective employment and self-employment of the population in small and medium-sized towns of Belarus. The project aims to support the employment and self-employment of the population through the development of small and medium enterprises (SME), applying the socially responsible approach, and also through strengthening the integration and investment potential of small and medium-sized towns. The support of SME will be focused on three major sectors: i) transport and communication; ii) manufacturing; iii) financial services and business support services, as well as other sectors of economy.

HIV and Development

  • BELMED is the first national entry project in the health sector in Belarus with such a unique set of targets. The project is built on the recommendations made by the missions visiting Belarus in May and July 2014: WHO's mission for improvement of health protection and NCD problems and he joint mission of the United Nations for the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases. The main recommendations for Belarus included to gain evidence of the negative impact of the current burden of NCDs on the economy in general and the possibility of effective control of that influence, introduce surveillance of non-communicable disease risk factors, establish a national coordination mechanism on NCDs with the participation of public sector, NGOs and international organizations, optimize health care services and re-orient healthcare system towards the patient.
